We (a group of 4) did the Ultimate Combo Tour thru Shore Excursions. We did the riverboat tour, fruit market, banana plantation and Zipline! By far the BEST tour of our 12 day cruise!!
Manuel made sure that everyone was happy and addressed all of our concerns...of which there weren't any! We learned so much about Costa Rica and it agriculture.
But by far the highlight of the day was Jungle Breeze Zipline!! There are a few steps in the beginning, but after that it was all down hill. Pun intended! I would not hesitate to use Gio Tours again in Costa Rica!!Written December 7, 2024

Excellent tour, very good guide and driver. They went above and beyond to make it memorable. The swinging bridges of the cloud forest provide a great view of the jungle. The coffee/chocolate tour was also great. It is a longer drive to get to the forest and back, but worth it.

Cruise Excursion Sizes
We provide two sorts of excursions: small and regular.
Small Groups
Our small group tours are designed for parties of two to twenty persons. These tours are smaller than those available from cruise lines, allowing for a more customized experience.
Regular Groups
Regular Costa Rica shore trips usually have a group size of 20-50 people. These tours are comparable in size to those given by cruise lines. While these day excursions are larger in size, we maintain an exceptionally high standard of excellence.
Private
Private shore excursions in Costa Rica and with Giotours let you travel with your crew alone and, in many cases, fully customize your shore excursion. For groups of four or more, we can usually arrange a wonderful bespoke shore trip.

Great tour and guide
Juan Pablo was an excellent tour guide. At the coffee plantation we learned all about CR coffee and found out we're brewing it all wrong! Lunch buffet was fabulous. Highly recommended. You must be able to walk uphill at elevation.
Great nature connection and enjoyable day
This was a delightful day. They were very easy to find at the pier. We found Juan the guide to be friendly and informative, and fun! Charlie was friendly and helpful and a great driver. We loved the Monteverde Cloud Forest tour, found it to be very worthwhile. Beautiful, a great nature connection, and a great way to spend the time.For the coffee tour we experienced sugar coming out of sugarcane, and cocoa beans made into chocolate. And saw coffee beans and roasting and had coffee and hot chocolate samples. Everybody in my group agreed this was a great day. We recommend it and Gio Tours.

Juan, our tour guide was amazing, knowledgeable and funny. He kept his narratives very informative. Randall, our driver expertly maneuvered the van on those narrow and winding road. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this tour when visiting Costa Rica.
First our tour guides Juan and Alejandro were two of the best tour guides I’ve had on the many excursions. I’ve been on in my many travels in my lifetime! One has such a positive and sparkling personality, and knowledge about his country, the environment and the people of Costa Rica and the specific region of Puerto Limon, I not only enjoyed the canal trip, the visit to the banana plantation, seeing the wildlife, but also learning about the Costa Rican‘s way of life! Juan and Alejandro made this trip. An amazing experience, making me want to come back to Costa Rica to visit more of the country and to live Pura Vida!
