A message from Giotours Founder and Owner
My name is Giancarlo Granados and I am the founder and owner of GioTours. I am a dedicated family man and a proud Costa Rican tour guide. To really know me, you have to understand my story…
I have always been a wanderer at heart. Wanderers are open to life and all its gifts. I was raised near San José, but whenever I could, I ventured further out, always wanting to see and know more.
As I grew up, I knew with certainty that tourism was my passion and life path. I entered one of the most prestigious universities in Costa Rica to study tourism.
After graduating, I knew my passion was not sitting in an office creating tours on paper or a screen, but being with passengers, living and experiencing what I was creating for them.
That’s how I became a tour guide. I guided tours for ten years, but kept dreaming of doing things my way, as sometimes I wanted to give more than agencies allowed.
That’s when Gio Tours was born – a travel agency dedicated to highly personalized service, always striving to give passengers more.
I’m happily married with three children. My family shares my passion, joining me to experience tours and adventures. I’ve taught them to respect and love our country, as sharing Costa Rica is the ultimate gift of my career.
For me, guides are key to customer satisfaction. I’d love to guide every tour myself, as I love my country so much.
Since I can’t, I hire guides who share my values – passion, integrity, enthusiasm, conservation, and love for Costa Rica. Punctuality, respect, charisma and comprehensive yet accurate explanations are also vital.
